Mobile ID

How It Works
Mobile ID is the recommended credential for students, faculty, and staff, with the option to obtain a physical UVA Academic ID card if needed.
If you currently have a physical UVA Academic ID card, activating your UVA Mobile ID in the Atrium Campus Connect app will permanently deactivate your physical card and it cannot be reactivated. If you later need a physical card, a new UVA Academic ID can be printed for a $25 replacement fee.
All devices must have a built-in NFC connection. Before you proceed, check your device’s NFC location.

Activate your Mobile ID
1. Upload Photos Online
Current Cardholders: Current UVA students and employees who have a recent photo can skip to Step 2.
New Users:
- Log in to the Online Cavalier Card Office using your NetBadge credentials.
- Upload a photo of one valid government-issued photo ID.
- Upload a headshot that meets the photo guidelines provided on the upload page.
- Once both uploads are complete, submit your request for approval.
An approval notice will be sent to the applicant’s email within 1-2 business days. The denied reason will be provided, if rejected, and another photo can be submitted.
After receiving the approval notice, please proceed to the next step.
2. Download the Atrium Campus Connect App
International phone users: If you experience an error in loading the app in the App Store, be sure your Apple Account country or region is set to the United States.

Activating Your UVA Mobile ID Replaces Your Physical UVA Academic ID

Benefits of Mobile ID
The UVA Mobile ID is the University's recommended and preferred credential for students, faculty, and staff; however, enrollment is optional. Individuals who prefer or require a physical UVA Academic ID card may choose to use a physical card instead.
Faculty, staff, and students are eligible as long as they meet all device and software requirements.

- Current cardholders may continue the usage of their physical UVA ID card. However, if they activate their UVA Mobile ID, the physical UVA ID cards will automatically deactivate.
